Hello everybody,
Our fellow riders from South Dakota are looking at trying to repeal their handlebar height law and they are looking for some help. Please read the email below.
South Dakota is considering legislation to repeal our handlebar height law. If you know anyone that was stopped for handlebar height while in South Dakota (no out of state incidents please) please have them send me:
1. A copy of the citation –or-if not cited their testimonial with a signature that it happened…need the usual when and where details of course.
2. If possible a photo of the rider and bike as cited
3. If willing, a testimonial about whether this event affected your plans to return to South Dakota and spend your tourist dollars.
4. The reason you like the bars at that height. We realize this will not be scientific, remember you will be talking to a intelligent legislator that doesn’t understand your position.
Additionally, we are also trying to build a file on Stop lights that don’t sense motorcyclists. Same request as above, if you experienced this in South Dakota last year, please let me know.
Please email any responses to:
sdimpacchair@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Larry Nielson

So please help out if you can. On another note it is election time for the MRF. If you are a MRF member please look at page 39 of the Nov/Dec MRF Reports. You will find a ballot for the Members Rep Position on the MRF Board. Below the ballot you will find candidacy papers from two gentlemen that are running for the position. Read their statements, fill out the ballot and mail it in. Your address label must appear on the back of the ballot for your ballot to be counted. Trust me, nobody cares who you vote for, we just need to make sure that only members vote and that they vote only once. And one more thing, don't ask me who to vote for, if you do I will exercise my right to remain silent.
Thanks,
Todd Riba
