Thank you for all who did there thing at the rally and we were the talk of the rally
Education - Paul will come and help set up
-Abate membership free for 6 months - basic or advanced motorcycle safety course - copy of certificate of completion and registration - IF you know any of the instructors let the instructors know as they are not getting the information out to abate people taking the course. Clarification: it is for 2009 forward. Mary will try Alex Tech and follow up
-Possible sign up for the advanced course at a monthly meeting - it will cost for the class but you would get 6 month abate membership
Motion: Char made a motion to get Josh Heindrichs here to talk to us about the advanced training course. (Chris will get him to come to a meeting - you will also get a deduction on your insurance)

Vice President report/Chris Thomas:
-Raffle book ticket issue - missing 4 books - if you know of any out that are not turned in please turn them in so they can get them back.
HUGE applause for those who attended the rally - Virgin Donna has purchased a tent so they can go again.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/HOWIE: about 600 pictures were taken and 500 hundred suitable for publication. Pete (remote control plain flyer) will get us some aerial photos from the rally).
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Education/Mary: school - contact new drivers about seeing motorcycles - request for crash victim to go in and talk to the kids to wake them up to LOOK! It’s important to get those new drivers looking.
Gambling-no report
Buddy Bears - no report (Jeppe will follow up)
Membership/Murph: Keep on pushing tri-folds. We need more voices on the helmet issue!!! Business cards requested to pass out - ABATE with Freedom First Riders with web address on them. How many? 1000 Go through State Products to get them.

Discussion: on getting the word out about the helmet law issue. Money has to come from the chapters for ads. Maybe challenge other chapters to take out ads along with us - or signage - to get the message out. Another idea would be to take the Dial-A-Ride picture to the paper for a free article.

Discussion: Brenda suggests donating memberships to the radio auction -
Donna will contact the paper and radio stations.
New riders - when they buy a bike - work with the dealers - putting info on the bulletin
board. Please feel free to do some PR work at the tech school.

-Chapter Products - do not have anyone - Murph volunteers for the job.
-Website/Penny absent: Facebook is a fine thing but we have a website and things are not getting done. Someone needs to come forward to help maintain the website. Glenn (new member) is willing to take over the website.
Motion: Scott made a motion for new member (Glenn) take over the website so that Penny is not so overwhelmed with her current responsibilities.

Motion: Dean made a motion that Penny has done an excellent job with the website and the group thanks her immensely for what she has done so far.

-Dial-a-ride: John has joined the State level - he needs more help to take routes in our territory - his route has expanded. Please contact him if you’re willing. Whoever volunteers will need to have weekends where they will not drink so that they can cover any calls. You may absolutely sign up for certain weekends. John requests Dial-a-ride business cards.

$500.00 sponsorship needed for the Dial-A-Ride trailer because H.Boyd didn’t follow through and their name will be coming off the trailer.
OLD BUSINESS
-Lunch wagon: Great Response $3786.06 (expenses $2793.07) profit $993.00 Later, to be brought up if we are going to do it again. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED!!!!!!!
-Halloween Party at Chris &Jen Thomas’ home: Please dress up - there will be a band - there will be food - it’s called “The Fall Down” - camping available. A hat will be passed for expenses. EVERYONE BRING A FRIEND THAT’S NOT A MEMBER to show them what this is all about.
-Who’s going to Meeting of the Minds? Contact Jeppe!!!!!! September 24 to the 27. MRF is the national organization for rights and education…all over the WORLD come to this. They fight on the National and Federal level.

Discussion: Beth reminds the group that because meetings are on a Saturday night and need to be in the back room it would be wise to talk to the owner ahead of time as the back room serves many meals on Saturday night.
