PENNYJO , what a great job you've done on this web-site , the FFR club is very lucky to have such a talented ( & pretty ) lady . You are SO cool ! Vince

After being out on the highway this spring and really enjoying the almost total lack of bugs, it struck me as I came by a bee hive alongside the road that there really is no good reason we have to put up with f)*&*&*# beehives 20 feet from the edge of a road. How many people have had a bee up a sleeve or down a shirt collar, or just hit and stung on some exposed body part.
After being in a 7 year long lawsuit with bee keepers, I have learned a lot about bees, they claim bees will fly 7 miles to get the kind of pollen they really like.
If that is the case then there is no good reason to have the hives w/in 50 feet of a road so it boils down to them being lazy.
I propose ABATE push some legislation that requires bee keepers to place their hives 500' from any asphault road. This will keep most of the bees more than 6' off the ground at the roadway. The bees will still be able to do their important job, they don't mind flying a ways, fewer of them will be killed on the highway by windshields. Anyone allergic to bees that rides will have a little more cushion near hives. Hopefully I won't have to scrub as much honey off my windshield.
